The Student Body Vice President is responsible for appointing students to most University committees requiring student participation, including SGA external committees, Academic Senate external committees, advisory committees, task forces, search committees, and other committees as designated.
The Office of the Student Body Vice President coordinates the recruitment, selection, and training; and maintains contact with students who are appointed to various committees. I serve as acting Student Body President in the absence of the Student Body President.
The Student Body Vice President is responsible for the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP).
The Student Body Vice President also manages special SGA policy initiatives and assists the Student Body President in overseeing the operations of the SGA Administration, in addition to serving as a member of the SGA Executive Committee.
The Student Body Vice President is elected at large by the student body and reports to the Student Body President.
To increase the awareness of University committees and to increase the number of committee members.
To work closely with the Executive Officers in seeing that our original platform statements are carried out.
To listen to the students and hear their concerns.
To be a resource for the student body and senators.
To ensure there is a proper and fair selection process for University committees.
To hold committee members accountable to reporting once a month information pertaining to their committee.
To increase communication amongst Registered Student Organization’s.
To increase SGA awareness amongst the campus, administrators and faculty/staff.
